Dr Brian James BDSc, MDSc (QLD) (Periodontics) FRACDS

Dr Brian E James is one of Australia’s most accomplished dental practitioners, and a leading authority on periodontics and the latest in periodontal treatment.

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1987, Dr James served three years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a dental officer, before attaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), in general stream in 1991.

During1990 – 1992 Dr James worked in the private sector in Murwillumbah NSW and Chelmsford in the United Kingdom, completing his Masters degree in 1995.

A current member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Periodontology (immediate past federal president of the society), Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontics, Asian Pacific Society of Periodontology, and a Member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Dr James was also a national trainer for the ITI.

 

   

Brian has lectured extensively at conferences and seminars on Dental Implant techniques, with particular focus on tissue management and the latest developments on periodontal therapy, and effective practice management at local, state and federal levels. Brian is a current national trainer for Nobel Biocare Dental Implants. 

Brian and his wife Andrea moved to Cairns in September 2005 and have three children, two boys and a girl. They also have a dog (a weimaraner) whom he his reluctant to claim as his when out walking it.


 

Dr. Allison Dean BDSc (Hons), DCD, FRACDS(Perio)

After graduating with honours from The University of Melbourne in 2001, Allison practiced as a general dentist in the private sector in both Victoria and New South Wales for three years. She always had a keen interest in periodontics and chose to pursue further study in this area. Allison completed her clinical doctorate in periodontics at The University of Melbourne in 2007. She also attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) in the specialist field of periodontics in 2007.

Allison is a current member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Periodontology, Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontics and is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). She has also been involved in lecturing and the clinical teaching of undergraduate dental students.

 

   

Allison was attracted to the tropical climate and lifestyle and chose to relocate to Cairns from Victoria in 2007. She loves working in a modern, wonderfully well equipped specialist practice alongside a friendly, caring and professional team.
